If you are still mapping how the vendor landscape fits together, start with who actually builds mini PCs and what that means for support.
The current catalogue is also the least self-explanatory in the category. MINISFORUM runs at least six product families — UN, UM, M1/NAB, AI X1, AtomMan, MS, plus the N5 storage line — and reuses name patterns across unrelated products. "UM790 Pro" and "UM890 Pro" are different machines a generation apart. "G1 Pro" and "G7 Pt" sit at opposite ends of the AtomMan range despite the shared number. The corporate timeline dates MINISFORUM trademark registration and establishment of the Meigao Group to 2018, followed by a Meigao R&D centre in 2021, discrete-GPU products in 2022, overseas US, Japan and Germany operations in 2023, AI and MoDT development in 2024, and AI NAS products in 2025. Public trademark records place the filing itself in November 2017, so 2018 is the official founding milestone rather than the first legal activity.
MINISFORUM, Micro Computer (HK) Tech Limited and Meigao are not three unrelated companies. They are the consumer brand, the legal seller, and the group and manufacturing naming that appears across the corporate history and the Jiaxing Meigao Intelligent Manufacturing address. No authoritative evidence identifies a single third-party ODM building every MINISFORUM board, so describing the brand as a relabeler is inaccurate — the available evidence points to engineering and manufacturing entities inside the Meigao structure.
What the brand does differently
Three hardware decisions separate MINISFORUM from most of the mini PC market. The first is OCuLink: the brand normalised a direct PCIe 4.0 x4 external link on machines like the UM780 XTX, and it now appears across the UM, M1 and AI X1 families, on the MS-A1 and MS-A2, and on the N5 NAS line. The second is storage and lane density — the MS-01 carries three M.2 positions with different lane widths plus U.2/M.2 22110 support, the AI X1 Pro runs three M.2 positions, and the MS-02 Ultra runs four memory slots to 256 GB. The third is networking: dual 2.5GbE appears from the entry tier upward, and the MS-01, MS-A2, N5 family and MS-S1 MAX push 10GbE SFP+ or RJ45, with dual 25GbE on the MS-02 Ultra flagship.
The counterweight is product churn. Several models in the current catalogue are regional, out of stock, or superseded by a similarly named successor, and the naming corrections below exist precisely because reviewers and retailers have conflated generations. The naming traps, in the order a buyer is likely to hit them:
- UN150P, not "UN150". The official current model name carries the P suffix.
- UM773 Lite, not "UM773". The Lite suffix is part of the shipping name.

The UM773 Lite deserves one clarification because it is a common confusion point: the Ryzen 7 7735HS is Zen 3+ with Radeon 680M, architecturally distinct from the Ryzen 7 8845HS and Radeon 780M generation. It does, however, keep socketed RAM up to 64 GB, USB4, 2.5GbE and Wi-Fi 6E, which is why it survives as a second-hand Proxmox node.
Tier 2 (Intel) — M-Series and NAB Systems
This is the branch of the range for buyers who specifically want Intel Quick Sync. Do not recommend a NAB9 from the CPU model alone. A 12th-gen i9 remains capable, but current availability and support economics matter more than the badge, and the NAB9 Plus availability has been inconsistent in the official storefront.

The AI X1 family is where MINISFORUM puts its socketed-memory Ryzen AI hardware, and it is a different proposition from the EliteMini AI370 despite both carrying AI branding.

JEDEC beats XMP. Standard 1.1 V DDR5-5600 CL46 modules are the safer choice.
